9 pounds, 22 inches!

Harper had a doctor's appointment today and she weighed in at 9 pounds even!!  Wow!  And she's grown 3 inches since she was born!!  And we're only 1 week past her due date.  Milk does a body good!

Remember...only 5 more days to vote on the "Eye Color" poll on the top right of the blog.  :)

She's official!

Hi everyone!

Just a little post to signify the fact that yesterday was Harper's due date!  I can't believe I should still be pregnant or could still be pregnant - it feels like it went by so fast!  I think she's growing even faster, though!  My guess is she's about 8 pounds today; at her last appointment a week ago she weighed 7 pounds, 9 ounces, and she has another appointment next Tuesday so we will see what the verdict is!  She would have been a big girl at birth!!  I will update you all on that next week.

Here's a cute picture of Harper doing what she does best...she's getting so big!  :)

Super Baby!

All of the preemie development info I've found says I should just add the 6 weeks to all of the normal milestones.  "Babies born early often take longer than others to reach milestones, but by age 2 they usually catch up to their peers. In fact, pediatricians say that when gauging a preemie's development, parents should begin counting from the child's due date, not from his birth date. So a child born three months early should be expected to reach at 6 months the milestones of a 3-month-old."

Her due date is September 17th but she is kicking butt already.  She can lift her head up for a few seconds, push her butt off the ground (by arching her back and pushing her feet on the ground) and today she even flipped herself over.  I had laid her on the loveseat with her feet towards the back so I could run into the kitchen really quick.  She started to cry and got so upset that she pushed herself onto her belly by pushing against the back of the loveseat with her feet!  Amazing!

Like I said...she's a super baby!!

Eye Color Poll!

Hey everyone!

Just for fun...we're taking bets on what color eyes Harper will have.  :)  I know some of you get this by e-mail, so if you go to the blog (http://the-christensen-fam.blogspot.com) at the top right of the page there is a poll so shoot over there and cast your vote!  I've attached a photo to compare...the picture of Harper isn't as sharp as it could be - it's hard getting a good photo of her eyes (she also has really long upper eyelashes that I'm bummed didn't come out in this pic!).  Maybe I'll try again so you can see her pretty eyes!

Harper at one month!

This video is kind of long, and she's not doing much as she still doesn't really do much, but I just wanted you all to have a chance to see her in action (awake and all!).

Happy Birthday, Harper! (Her one-month birthday!)

Harper is a month old today!  Time is flying and she is growing so fast!!
