I just can't get enough of this!

I downloaded this program called Gawker, which records time-lapsed videos from your webcam (and does other things, but I haven't gotten there yet), so here is a video I shot today to test it out. Enjoy!! :) It is soo cute!!

I can crawl! And walk!!

We thought Harper was going to skip crawling altogether, but she figured it out!! She has been able to stand for a long time, and is slowly able to take more and more steps every day (which is why we thought she'd walk first, but she's still working on officially walking)! She doesn't really like to crawl on her own (she'd rather have mommy and daddy cart her around all the time), but she really loves to do laps around the living room holding onto the furniture. :) Check out these videos that I took today!!! And see you in a couple weeks at her 1st birthday party (8/8/09 at 1:00 at Mahogany Ridge)!!

Go back to the blog!

I accidentally posted that last post before I added the pictures...so if you're getting this by e-mail you're missing out and need to click on over to the-christensen-fam.blogspot.com!
Love,
Harper ;)

I'm 11 Months Old!! And I have a new cousin!!

Wow -- 11 months already! Harper is just a sweetie, growing more and more every day and I can't believe how fast time has gone by! She's still THIS CLOSE to walking AND crawling, but not doing either consistently yet. She can take a few steps here and there but she's developed a fear after a few little falls. She has her own style of crawling, so she can get around by pulling herself with her arms, but she hasn't figured out how to use those knees yet! She did crawl correctly the other day, but only a few feet then she flopped back down on her belly. And no, it doesn't matter how many times I try to show her, she still drops to her belly and pulls herself by her arms!

Lately I've created a little play ring on our living room floor, which keeps her busy. All of the furniture is placed in a U-shape and she just walks herself back and forth all along the ring, and sometimes she plays on the rug in the middle, pushing and pulling herself along the floor. She also walks in her walker, and can walk by pushing her walker, if it doesn't go too fast!

I am busy planning her 1st birthday party -- yippee! And here is the "e-vite" I've put together...I do have some paper ones, but I thought I'd post it here, too!! Let me know if you're coming!!

And we found out some wonderful news today -- Harper has a new baby girl cousin today! Madeline Lauren was born early this morning to Dan and Kirsten, so that makes 10 grandchildren on Glenn's side! And I love that the youngest 3 are all girls. :) There is Christian (12), Romeo (9), Kendra (9), Titus (7), Zane (6), Bing (6), Zeik (4), Blessin (1), Harper (11 months) and Madeline (1 day!!).

Top Five Toys Every One Year Old Should Own

I know, kinda lame to put this on here, but I thought the article was interesting and had such cute stuff! I definitely want to get everything on here for Harper for her birthday. :)

I originally found it at this adorable kiddie blog: ohdeedoh

They've got:

1. Ikea Ekorre Walker. I've also seen a cute bumble bee and ladybug walker!

2. School of Fish. Bath toys are great!

3. Alphabet Blocks from Land of Nod. I love the classic wooden toys.

4. Dwell Soft Stacker. So cute, even for kids younger than 1.

5. Bubbles. The author of the article recommends non-toxic bubbles available from Gymboree. These would be fun for the party.

They also recommended these:

1. A chair that's all her own, most likely something like this from Pottery Barn Kids.

2. A growth chart.

3. A first dollhouse- something small and soft.

4. A bookshelf that allows her to easily take out her books or put them away.

The original list was from Celebrations.com! So cute!!
